~A Peek into Our Week~

I'm loving our new to us computer.  It is really nice to have the docking station and the large monitor.   Our other computer just had too many issues, and was getting worse it seemed to me.

We went to a pumpkin patch this weekend.  We all had a nice time being outside in the fall weather.

There were lots of fun things for the children to do.  They really loved the zip lines.  This pumpkin patch was run by our dentist, Dr. Sweet.  He drove us on the hay ride to get the pumpkin.

I love this last photo of the girls showing love to each other.  So sweet!!!
I thought I would post another photo of our little house, as the last one was not the best shot.
Here is what we did some this weekend...a bit of relaxing.  I was not feeling real great, so I took it easy and watched a bit of QVC Christmas items on the television.
I rented a movie that I'm going to try and watch this afternoon.  It is written by Woody Allen.
Here is a little ghost that Justin got at Walgreens for his bedroom.  I think it is pretty cute!
I put a new Walflower in our bathroom.  It is called Guava Pina Colada.   It smells quite good.  Today I am doing a few loads of laundry and getting caught up on cleaning.  I was really sick yesterday, and could not get anything done, as all I could do was lay in bed.  This morning I took one look at our house, and just thought I could not function well if I had to live in such a messy house all of the time.  So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. Now the house is tidy once again, but I still need to sweep and vacuum.  I still don't feel 100% myself, but I do plan to rest a bit this afternoon and watch that movie.  Well it is about 10:30 and I've only had one cup of coffee, so I guess I will have to make myself another cup.  Hope your having a great week so far!  Bye for now.

~A little Post on Our New Computer~

Here is Lauren last night.  Her cheer squad preformed at the high school football game yesterday night.  They did an awesome job!  Today is my niece Emily's 20th birthday.  Emily is a very amazing young lady.  I am so blessed to be her aunt.  My husband got a new computer at work, so we purchased his other one.  It is very nice and came just as our other computer was not working so well, nice how sometimes things work out like that.  Anyways that is why this blog entree is going to be so short.  I just wanted to make sure the photos on this computer would work with my blog.  They work great!!!  I am a little under the weather today, so I plan to rest a bit and try to feel better.  I am still making our meals and doing laundry, but no running around today for me.  It is a stay in my comfy PJ's kind of day and just relax and melt some wax melts and have my candles aglow.  Can you believe it is only 9 weeks until Christmas?  Hard to believe how fast this year is going by.  Megan is already planning her annual New Years Eve Party.  Every New Years Eve the children have a little get together with their friends.  Well, I guess I'll end this little blog post, and will post a larger one soon.  Have a happy weekend!

~A Peek Into Our Week~

Here is the before and after of our little house's transformation with paint.  I love it now on the outside as well as on the inside.
Here is Steven putting up our outdoor fall decorations.  I keep it really simple with just a little wreath and some fall garland.

Here is Tristyn working the front desk the other day.  I love taking him food at work, even though he is a grown man now, he will always be my baby.

As always I have been menu planning, shopping for food and making homemade meals.  The bottom picture is of walking tacos.  The girls got the idea to make these from a fair at their school where they served walking tacos!
Here is a photo of the moon Saturday night.  It was simply beautiful, but the photo really did not capture it's beauty.
I grated potatoes to make home made hash-browns into the cute little Pioneer Women bowl that my mother purchased for me on her last visit to our little house.  Now every time I see it I think of her.  I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful mother.  She used to read to us all the time, and tell us stories before bed, she cooked us healthy home made foods and kept our home neat and tidy.  I never understood how lucky I was until I became a grown up, but I will always cherish my Mom.
I found this sauce at Aldis and I made Tikka Masala.  It was so good!!!!  Nice to have something different.
Megan's little Duraflame cube came this last week.  I actually ordered her the large Duraflame like the one in Lauren's room, but she didn't want something that big in her room, so I got to keep the large one, and found this small one for her room!
Here is the large one in my room!  I think it is cute, and it will be nice to be able to make my room extra warm and cozy in the winter.
This is what my car looks like when I'm waiting on one of the children at school, or to get done with practice.  I have my Kindle Fire and I use my aux cord and listen to one of my Audible books.
This is the book I'm listening to now.  I is good so far.
The girls and I went to TJ Maxx's grand opening last Sunday.  I am so thankful our little town has one.  We really needed an extra place to shop for clothes.
The cuff on Justin's new school sweat shirt came undone, so I mended that for him, and it is as good as new.
Justin wanted his photo taken with this skeleton at Walgreen's the other day.  So cute how he put his arm around it like it was a buddy.
My new issue of Victoria came out.  I love the Christmas issues!  This is my favorite magazine and I have been reading it since before Tristyn was born, that is over 20 years!  I don't read another magazine, just Victoria.
The girls and I went last night and got some root beer floats, actually mine was just root-beer in an iced cold mug, so yummy!
I watched the Charlie Brown Halloween special the other night.  The children are off school today and tomorrow, so they get a four day weekend.  It will be nice getting to spend some time with them.  Steven and I plan to actually work on our little house this weekend, so that will be a nice change.  He is always so busy with the apartments that our little house gets put on hold most of the time.  I have to go grocery shopping today as well as go to all the children's parent teacher conferences.  Well, I guess I should end this blog and have a cup of coffee before I get started on my day.  Have a great rest of the week and a nice weekend!

A Peek in Our Week & a Amish Dinner Roll Recipe

Here is Tristyn at work.  He runs the theater at the Cosmosphere. I bring him lunch and dinner from time to time.  He is such a wonderful young man!

Here is the bag that I use to keep my face care items inside.  I also got one for Lauren to use for her everyday makeup bag.  The neat thing about this bag is the little individual bags come out, which works really good for Lauren to take her makeup to school.  I got them off of HSN  it is a Joy brand bag.

For Lauren's room I got her a little Duraflame stove to help keep her room cozy this winter.  Megan didn't want a big one, so I have ordered her a little Duraflame cube to keep on her dresser.
Since their bedrooms are in the basement, it stays a bit cooler down there, so I thought this would help to keep them comfortable.
Megan decided to keep her bed spread on the print side.  I want her to be happy with her room, so it is what she wants that will go!
Here is the wall decor I have put in our little half bath room.
Everyone is at work and school now, so our little house is quiet.  I am getting a lot of deep cleaning done this morning, I am also making those Amish Dinner Rolls.  I make them early as they take a lot of time to rise, so I can't make them right at dinner time.  You actually have to let these rise a total of four times.  They are so very good, so I am going to share the recipe.
Here is the Amish Dinner Roll Recipe.  I only make a half a batch, unless I was going to take them to a big family get together.

2 Cups of warm water
2 Tbsp dry yeast
2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
6 1/2 cups of flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar and 2 cups flour, beat and cover for a half an hour.  Add remaining ingredients and knead until smooth at least 15 minutes.  Let rise until double in bulk, then punch down.  Let rise again until double, then form into rolls of desired shape and put in baking dish.  cover and let rise again.  Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.  Serve with real butter.
Here is our little Disney guest room.  I love to go in there and relax from time to time, it is so cozy and it reminds me of my childhood.  Tonight is the girls last Volleyball game, so we will be done with getting up at five am to get them to practice at six.  I may go ahead and get up at five, just because I like to get up early and go to bed early.  This weekend TJ Max will open in our little town, so we are excited to have another place to shop.  I am doing laundry as always and going to sweep and mop today, as well as clean the toilets.   I do have to bring the girls Subway today so they have something to eat on the bus before their games, I also need to run to the grocery store to get a couple of items for the girl's lunch tomorrow.  The weekend is almost here, so that will be nice.  Steven is having to do a lot of work on his apartments getting a few ready to be rented out.  I know he has one that needs to be ready to go on Saturday, so as always he is super busy with that in addition to his accounting job.  He never complains and I think he actually enjoys his work.  I guess I understand that, as I enjoy the work I do at our little house.  It is a blessing to do what you love in life.  I better get back to cleaning.  Happy almost weekend!!!
