Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I hope you are all having a lovely day today.  It was a jean day at Justin's school today, so I got him a cute little St. Patrick's Day shirt that said, Pinch at your own risk.  I thought it suited him well!  Megan had gym first thing this morning, so she wore a St. Patrick's day shirt for that.

I made a new bread recipe this week.  It is a wheat bread that I found in one of my Amish cook books.  I really liked it, but the rest of my family prefers white bread.
We had a couple of banana's that were too ripe, so I made a loaf of Banana bread.  I added pecans and cranberries, and of course butter!  It was really good.
I made home made yogurt.  It is quite easy to do, and really good.  My mom had me try it when I went to her house last.  She put honey in it and it is so yummy!  You actually put a little of the plain yogurt into a bowl and I like to mix some honey into the yogurt and then I drizzle some on the top as well.  You can also add your favorite fruit jam.  I will include the Recipe in case anyone would like to try it.

Measure four cups of milk in a pan.  (I like to use whole milk) then heat to boiling, don't forget to stir this.  After it boils, remove from heat and cool for 38 minutes.  Remove the skin that forms on the top after it has cooled for the 38 minutes.  Whisk in 3 Tablespoons of plain yogurt.  Mix this well.  Then pour into your jars and cover with a lid.  Fill a gallon empty water jug with the hottest water from your sink, put the lid on.  Place the water jug and your two jars into a small cooler and close the lid.  Let sit for 6-7 hours then put in the fridge.  Chill and eat!

Here is the cooler I use and what it looks like inside.  Any small cooler would work fine.
I found a new music video on you tube that I enjoy having on in our little home.  It is called "Best French music for a romantic dinner"
I'm trying out a Better Homes and Gardens Candle in our bathroom this week.

Here is one of the candles I had going in our little kitchen this week.  I used the Scentsationals Strawberries & Cream as a companion wax to help add scent through our little home.
Lauren and Megan went to a play at their school yesterday evening.  Justin and his Daddy went to dinner together.  After dinner Justin helped his Daddy get supplies for one of the apartments that is getting fixed up.  I cleaned up my dinner mess and watched a little Youtube.  This week has flown by for me, and after-school today Justin is having a couple of friends over for a play date.  I hope you all have a very cozy weekend.  Hugs.  Juli
