~A thought on my heart

Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. -Matthew 6: 20-21

This verse has been on my heart the past few weeks.  I enjoy all of the many blessings that I have in my life, but I think it is important to always keep in the front of our minds that every gift we have has come from God allowing us to have it.  I do not feel it is a sin to have nice things that we enjoy, so long as those things never come before God.  The material things on this Earth are not where we should be focusing our daily attention on.  It is only if our things take up too much of our attention, and we start to focus on those things rather than on God that it truly may be time that we should strive to do something different.

Money in itself is not evil, but the love of money is.  I often think to myself that the more God gives us, the more he expects of us.  So if our riches increase we should not set our hearts on that.  When we do then we are putting money and things before God and that for certain is a sin.

I think it is important to keep in the front of our minds that God comes before anything this world has to offer.  When our focus strays from this, we must spend more time reading our Bibles, doing our devotionals and praying.  I believe making time daily to draw close to our Lord helps us to stay on the path we are meant to travel.

This is just what is on my heart and I thought I would share it on my blog.  Thank you for taking your time to visit my little space.  Hugs to you.  ~Juli
