~Just a little thought

Today I thought I would share a thought that was on my heart, and that is do the best you can with what you have been given.  I truly think when we do this, it helps bring contentment.  In the above picture I took a photo of what we use as a night table.  It is actually a file cabinet.  Our little house does not have a room dedicated for a study or office, so I found a way to still have it without it looking badly in our bedroom.  This is just one example of many that I have used through the years.  I don't just apply this concept to my home decor, but to all areas of my life.  Over a year ago I came down with Covid and I have been sick with inflammation in my chest on a regular basis since then.  My first inclination is to feel frustrated and ask why me, but instead of this, I have given myself grace.  I am the type of person who likes to stay busy around my house, but with my health situation I have to sometimes be satisfied with less than what used to be my best work.  I understand that each day I strive to do my best, but I give myself grace to know that my best will be different from day to day.  This brings contentment where there may otherwise be frustration.  I just thought I would share this little thought in hopes that it may help someone who reads this to have peace and contentment as well.  Thanks for stopping by my space.  Hugs to you.  ~Juli

  3. If more people adopted this outlook in their lives the world would be happier.
I own nothing new, everything I own is from garage or estate sales.
I have a beautiful rocking chair and table
That people threw in the trash.
I buy fabric and make pillows, tablecloths. I gather seeds from flowers
And cuttings then plant them in my garden. Most gardeners are generous
And are happy to share with others.
There is so much you can do with little money. Use you own talent to create
    your cosy home.
There's a wonderful book called frugal luxuries. It is an enjoyable read with good ideas for your home.

  4. Your night stand/file cabinet is so pretty, Juli. I’m surely sorry you’re having Covid complications. But, so touched by your bounce-back spirit and that you’re giving yourself grace. That’s something we all need to do more of. Thanks for this reminder💖🌸💖
