~A Peek Into Our Week~

I have put my no burn Jelly Donut candle out in my little kitchen.  They no longer make this one, and I love it, as it was one of the first Yankee Candle I got years ago.  I love the picture on this one, so even if I can't burn it, I love the cozy feel it invokes.
I celebrated my birthday the other day.  This is a sweet card and gift I got in the mail from my cousin Teri.  I have to say, the wrapping of this gift just made me so happy.  It  was simple and lovely.

This is what she gave to me.  It is a beautiful hand made book mark, that I put inside my devotional book. (which I learned about from Teri years ago.) I will always cherish it.

My sweet little Megan took her own money, and purchased for me this honey suckle candle and this very cute pop up card.  Years ago, I had told Megan that I loved honey suckle flowers, she says, now you can smell them any time you like.

My wonderful parents sent me this card with birthday money inside, and also went to a thrift shop near where they live and purchased this vintage rolling pin for me.  It is like the one my grandmother always used.

I made an apple pie last week.  I had to sing the song, me oh my, gonna bake a pie, gonna bake a pie with the heart in the middle.  LOL  I can't wait to get my new rolling pin and be able to use it to make all sorts of goodies.

My husband's work had an event, and a couple of months ago he bid on this in a silent action and saved it for my birthday.  It is from the Pioneer Women's Mercantile shop in Oklahoma.  She was there and signed my book.  I am a huge fan of her, and have a lot of her dishes.  She makes vintage inspired items that are very good quality.  I have to say, I have always wanted a cake stand like this one.  I told Steven, it was the most perfect gift!  If anyone would like to see a Youtube video about her shop, you can copy and paste this address.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4WUMzVuZ9I   Here is a interview with The Pioneer Woman and her shop, the history of the Mercantile.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biHmn5nD0HM
On my actual birthday, I took a day of rest.  I have been recovering from a very long sickness, and have rarely been able to rest a whole day.  Steven took off in the afternoon from work, and picked up the children for me.  I enjoyed watching The Walton's in bed in my guest room.  I tell you that day of rest did wonders for me, what a blessing!
The day after my birthday, I was feeling so very much better.  Megan wanted to spend some one on one time with me, in celebration of my birthday.
We dropped off some lunch for my oldest son Tristyn at his work.  I love this picture of two of my wonderful children.  They are truly a blessing to my heart.  (Lauren was in her friends Quinceanera's, so she was busy all weekend with that.)
We went and sat outside of a little coffee shop and visited until Steven needed us to take him to his car, that was having new tires put on.  Then after that we sat in my car and visited some more.  It was such a nice time to get to enjoy my beautiful (inside as well as outside) daughter.
After we got out of my car, Megan posed for a silly photo in our front yard!  She is so fun loving!
This may be one of the silliest things I have done, but I loved how Teri wrapped my gift so very much, that I opened it so carefully, I was able to put the wrapping paper back as she had it, and I have it on display in my little cubby shelf.

My sister and her sweet family face timed me on my birthday and sang to me, happy birthday.  So sweet, and it touched my heart.  They were on vacation in Estes Park, Colorado.  Here are some beautiful photos she sent to me.  The little sweater that precious Lilah is wearing, my sister knitted herself!
I also had a great many people wish me a happy birthday, and they all touched my heart and made my day special.  Even though I was still somewhat sick, it turned out to be an awesome and very special birthday.  I hope you are all having a nice week, and enjoying some fall weather.  Today in our little town it actually felt like fall!  What a blessing!  Thank you for visiting my little space.  Hugs.  Juli

  2. I was watching a lot of video's about her shop, and one of the ladies who works there said that the best time to go to avoid a crowd is a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and not during a holiday time such as spring break. I hope to go one of these days myself! Hugs to you. Juli
