~Mismatched Towels~

I just thought I would share something that came to my mind this evening.  My husband had been short with me a few times during the day, and I snapped at him  after dinner.  Lauren was in the room, which made me all the more ashamed of myself. Steven had just been short with me, and I was just plain mean to him.  I know my husband deals with a lot of stressful things, and almost never lets it show to me.  This day had just not been a good one, and instead of being understanding and kind, I was not.  I instantly went to my room, and just felt bad about myself after wards.  I apologized to Lauren that she had to see me act so nasty.  A little later I was folding my mismatched towels and thinking how even though they are not in perfect condition, or even all the same color, that they were a blessing.  Then it dawned on me.  I needed to not beat myself up for not being perfect.  We are all human, and we all have our moments we wish we could push rewind and do over.  We need to remember that God loves us just as we are, and we need to love each other as well as ourselves, even when we make mistakes.  We all make mistakes, and if you are anything like me, you are harder on yourself than anyone else.   All we can do is try to be kinder, and more gentle in spirit tomorrow, and rest in the peace of knowledge, that just like my mismatched towels, we can be a blessing to those around us, with out being perfect.  Hugs.  Juli

  2. People do the most harm, to themselves. People wallow in guilt, for things they regret. And keep beating themselves up, for so many things.

    People should Wise Up!!!!!!!!

    You did!

We are human, so we are not Perfect. We will make mistakes.

Personally, I don't want to *Achieve Perfection*! If I were somehow able to become perfect, I'd be DONE! And I don't want to be DONE yet!!!! :-)

Good for you, Hon!!!!! Good for you.

And tell him, you don't expect him to be perfect, either. :-)

  3. You're right, there was only one perfect Person, and He saved us from our sins! ;) and loves us perfectly.
I wanted to thank you for your inspiring posts. Because of reading here, I have on beautiful Fall scenes on my tv ;). Plus, I got a snowy night one for later (thru Amazon dot com/firestick tv, in case somebody reading this is wondering what the heck I'm talking about).
I got a clearance Yankee candle @ Walmart a while back and had it burning earlier today. I've tried their wax melts out - in the two scents you mentioned a few posts back. I like them and my nose is particular (started to write "picky", but thought better of it ;).
Plus, I really liked your car organization post....inspired me to do the same with mine :)
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy life to write to us.
